The Doormat Party

On the political spectrum, today’s Democratic party is about as liberal as Ronald Reagan. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elizabeth Warren are outliers and disrupters, trying to move the party back to its populist, liberal roots, which made the New Deal and a 40-hour workweek possible, which passed the Equal Rights Act in 1964, thereby effectively losing the South when the GOP jumped on the chance to show that they could be the party of racists. The resistance to this shift from within the Democratic party tells you all you need to know about who they are and who they represent.
